Hello,

I am interested in replacing my 1985 Hiace 3Y 2.0L motor. Either with a 4Y 2.2L if it suits or the possibility of a diesel motor. It has original auto transmission. Knowing the 3Y is 2.0L and not really potent nor economical and that the van is still solid and practical, I am looking for something that has a bit more grunt. Torque is a bit more important than top end speed for me. Although it would be nice if I could maintain maximum highway speed with less effort! Load capacity will be near maximum so I want hill climbing without such an effort from a smaller motor.

Can anyone advise me/point me in the right direction? Costs? Contacts?

Your assistance is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Ken.
