noisy valve lash adjuster on a Toyota Aurion V6

Hello

I have the occasional noisy valve lash adjuster on a Toyota Aurion V6 with 32,000KMS. Sounds like a noisy lifter or tappit.

The noise will vary on the temp of the engine. Cold is worse. Is the cause of the noise to do with the faulty valve lash adjusters?

I know this is a source of annoyance for the odd Aurion V6.

Is it easy and or cheap to change these for a new item or a better model adjuster???

Does the HDT models use the same system?

Any ideas would be appreciated. :o

Do you mean TRD models? If you do they are the same spec engine as all other Aurions, because a TRD starts life as either a SX6 or ZR6, with a supercharger bolted on to a standard engine.

I found that my engine became noisier on start up between 10,000 and 15,000kms which I feel is something to do with the oil that the dealer was using. So now I supply my own oil. This is the first service period since I changed oil so time will tell if it solves my issue, as I am only at the 8,000km mark. It is noticeably quieter since I started using my own oil.

I am using Penrite full synthetic with a 5W-50 weight instead of the 10W-30 that the dealer was using before.
