Thinking of painting my rims black / matt black

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Just got a few plans for the car. Got an AT-X and im going to make it so that I have a black and blue colour coord. Im getting a standard aurion sportivo rims and was thinking of maybe painting that black. I've talked to a couple of people and think it will look gud and they way I'm going to have it, is that the eyelids matt black and the silver bit on the bottom (where the fog light area is on the at-x) matt black, as well as the grill.

So I was thinking it may look gud if I colour co-ord it properly.

What do you guys think?

I reckon that sounds like an alright choice for colour co-ordination (on paper). Maybe some Photoshop mock-ups may help.

I'm not 100% about getting the Sportivo rims in black though. It just seems that because of the large surface area of the wheel, it may not look all that great. Maybe if you somehow left a ring of silver around the outside it may work better. Once again, probably best with a Photoshop.

LOL haha yes my infamous Sig.... I dunno painting does sound good but I guess a paint shop mock up would help. Has anyone actually painted / power coated they're rims before?

I think it would look ok but like DJKOR said I would look at either slimming the "spokes" by painting black edges of whatever thickness or alternatively painting the centre of the "spoke"

I don't think all black would be so good, having said that they would be very different!
