Gday all. i own a toyotia hiace 97 petrol. my orange oil light comes on, ive checked the oil and it is fulll. odd thing is that the light switches on and off . when im idling or long rpm the light turns on.. while im at the top of the gear it turns off.. any one know wat is going on? Thanks in advance

The engine oil light indicates either that your oil is low or that it is not pumping with sufficient pressure. As you have checked your levels and noticed it is fine, then this would most likely be a pressure related issue. This is also indicated by the fact that when your engine is revving higher, the light disappears. Common problems are that you have an issue with your pump, there is a blockage somewhere in the system, or that the viscosity of the oil in your engine is incorrect. I wouldn't keep driving it until you have it checked up as this can mean that not enough oil is being pumped around your engine and can cause damage.
