Intake Maifold

hey guys

my rolla is goin under the knife in a few months time but im preparing some stuff for it...

anyway my problem is that the 1ZZ's came with a plastic Intake manifold and plenum...

I was told by the owner of a Performance workshop that if I ran too much boost this could crack and destroy the engine, so a custom metal one may need to be made... however I was just thinking...

Did the shape before the ZZE rolla have the same engine?

and did it come with a non plastic manifold and would it fit?

The US shape before their current one had the 1ZZ engine with an Aluminium intake plenum and a Square shaped throttle body to go with it.

I dont think it was as efficient though and that's why it was changed.

if u get the TRD S/C, u will get a new manifold I think. The beauty of this plastic manifold, is easier to smoothing it. Americans had done this. They smooth out the intake runners in and out, complete with throtlee body internal enlargement.
