SPARK PLUG REMOVAL

Has anyone replaced the plugs on a 2005 Kluger. If so was the intake plenum removed as per the shop manual for the rear bank? To remove the plenum is straightforward but I worry that I may not be able to replace the 3 bolts for the plenum/engine steady brackets as the access is poor and blind. I do not think it is necessary to remove the steady brackets, just undo the top bolts and hope they line up when the plenum is replaced. I cannot see that the plugs can be replaced with the plenum in situ. I do not trust main dealers to this job.

Roger , unsure of exactly what the engine looks like but working on a V6 magna was a similar deal to what you have described and if your not overally confident yourself find a reputable mechanic that can show you his work and discuss your concerns rather than dealership servicing it , remeber service books etc.

You have to remove the intake plenum and replace the gasket when refitting...

It's not a hard job...

Undo the steady bolts at the top only and you will be able to line them back up by feel, don't need to see them...

Thanks for the response but I cannot get my hand to the steady bolts so I guess I will go to the local mechanic in our town and ask him to do it. Very annoying!
