i notice water (looks like water) drops under my 1zz corolla when i start and turn off the car. so i checked the engine bay and found the source:

is it normal for water to drip there? the car is hot atm so i can't check coolant level but otherwise the car drives fine.

BG Pete here....again

Did you run the aircon today? not knowing toooo much about ZZE engine bays but it looks like aircon run-off.

PS.... one thing......did it taste like chicken? :P

Definitely looks like the vent for the air-con evaporator, those coils get quite cold and moisture in the air condenses on them easily, and that water has to be drained away somehow otherwise it will pool inside the unit.

thanks hiro, interesting that its aimed to drip on the subframe instead of ground.

I don't think it's "aimed" anywhere, there just happens to be a crossmember underneath. I've seen sillier things, take a look at the engine block coolant drain tap on a 7AFE, it's right next to the alternator and air-con compressor, so who knows what damage hot coolant could do when you drain it without being careful.
