not sitting right?

hi all,

i got my gen 6 camry lowered bout 1-2 months back and it didnt realli occur to me until i was looking at it properly the other day that the gap between my wheels and the car in front is larger than the back.

in fact, it looks kinda weird.

i recall whie running on stock the gap at the back is MASSIVE compared to the front and after lowering, the gap behind seems minimal but the front the gap is still pretty pronounced.

running on 18" and lowered with kings super lows...

any thoughts on why this is so??

will install some aftermkt shocks like a set of konis fix the probem or am i stuck with the problem unless i go adjustable coilovers?

That's normal.

If you have a closer look at your car, you should see that that the guards at the rear isn't as high as the front. So if you lower it to be at the same height all-round the back would seem to look lower.

yeah, i did notice that... but i cannot imagine how big the difference is and there i was getting worried the back will not be lowered enough... turns out its the front with the problem

tinz; what inch drop is that front and back? btw, how did dropping it and adding new wheels to your ride affect your insurance?

I did a quick quote on my insurance website and without wheels and suspension im paying $1200 per year. but with wheels and suspension it bumped up to $3600+. (thats if i started from scratch again but i was talking to my mate and he said cause im already with them it would be cheaper. but the question is...how much? haha)

dropped 50mm front and back dude... since i last asked the question, springs seem to settle a lil and the diff is not that obvious... duno maybe its just me and psychological.

Looking at the picture, that drop seems about right.

As mentioned, the front guards are actually higher than the rear for the simple fact that your tires need to clear them when you make a turn.

I did this quickly once before when this same question was raised. See how the side strips are parallel with the ground but you can see the difference in guard height:

i dont think that set up was a low and super low mix but super lows all around... i went with that thus raised the question.

Just to clarify things once again for the curious:

I think I better jump in on this discussion so it doesn't get out of hand.

When it comes to King springs for the Aurion... there is no 'Super Low' option.

That said, the 'low' springs you put in the Aurion are actually Kings Super Lows for the Gen 4 Camry. It just happens to turn out that Super Low Gen 4 Camry springs fit the Aurion and they consider it's drop to be low and not super low.

Just so you know, the 'low' springs Rowan has in his Aurion are in fact the Gen 4 Super Lows.

yeah, it happens on my camry,too. The rear looks super low, but the front only look like lowered very little. i think coilovers can fix this problem.
