Hi All,

I noticed this morning a few of the LEDs on my spoiler brake light have blown. In terms of replacement, do I replace just those LEDs or the strip of LEDs?

What sort of prices would I be looking at for a new strip?

Because I have answered this before, I will simply re-quote to save time. Different model, but same thing:

Spoiler Brake Light

I have 4 blown bulbs in my spoiler brake light....does anybody know how to change them??

I undid the light to have a look but it seems to be one whole piece that cant be undone to get at the bulbs.

Thanks B)

I personally haven't payed attention to the spoilers on those, but by the way you describe it, I would say it uses LED's for the brake light like a majority of spoilers out there.

In that case, you either change out the entire LED strip, or you can take the most cost efficient approach and de-solder the busted ones and put some new ones in. Provided you know how to solder.

As for the costs, I'm not too sure what Toyota would charge for it but they would sell it as the entire assembly (plastic lens and all). If you can tell me which Camry you have (like SXV11 or whatever... I'm not good with that) I can look the part number up for you to save time. I would predict at least $50 though.

Replacing the LED's individually though would be more cost efficient as you can pick up a pack of like 20 LED's for under $10.

No worries. I was trying to use the handy parts reference site "ToyoDIY.com" to obtain the part number, but it doesn't appear to be showing the MCV20R when you select the appropriate parameters (Region: Other, Year: 1999, Make: Toyota, Model: Camry). Usually it is fairly useful, never got a part number wrong for my Aurion anyway, but this time it is not behaving. Maybe I would suggest visiting there yourself and entering you VIN number to see what it returns.

It's just to make it easy when you call to enquire. Otherwise, I'd just say to call Toyota and let them look it up.
