Gday all - I've been a Toyota fan for a couple of decades now.

My first car was a 1975 Celica - British racing green in colour. I got new mags for it, put in a slightly upgraded 1.8 motor and got the whole body redone to a custom-show-car level. It cost quite a bit of dough, but it was a beautiful little buzz box to drive around in. Worst decision I made was selling that car.

But...

More recently I have bought a 2000 ZR Celica. It is a sweet ride - what a great hidden secret that little donk is. I'm amazed more of the motoring journos and public didn't jump behind this great little car. It's a very light drinker and yet when you put your foot down it's ready to party, it offers a go-kart driving experience and even the stock version turns heads wherever it goes. I absolutely love this Celica.

I'm from Perth and currently here to find some parts that I need. I've broken 1 rear light so want to replace both rears and want advice on the best options in terms of colours, and where to get them cheap. I'm not spending a lot of money on this car, so every dollar saved helps.

Personal info - Liberal voter, anti-speed cameras with a passion, Geelong Cats fan, general sports nut.

Glad to be here and I hope to learn a lot from you guys.

Hi, welcome.

Genuine rear tails aren't too expensive, from (my terrible) memory its in the $400 range. I don't doubt someone will correct me ;). Aftermarket ones are a bit dangerous - if you get ones with red indicators (most) you can get done for them. People don't tend to wreck them either...

If you want a more up to date look grab the 03+ ones, I think they look pretty good.

cheers Mole - where would you look? ebay had a few options for aftermarket...most were around $200 inc delivery. I'm interested in the illegality though - I'd hate to blow my dough.

There's a dude on there selling a stock pair for around $70 delivered so that may be the go, but I'd love to spend a little more and get a better look. My Celica's silver, so lends itself to the silvery coloured rears imho...
