93 camry

Hi all

i own a 93 camry, a good car. Recently i have noticed that the battery light will come on for a short period then go off.

This may occur several times during a trip, lasting from approx. 3 secs up to 60 secs. Sometimes there will be a period when the light will stay off for several days even weeks during travel . Is this a common problem?

Thanks :)

I would check your altinator and battery (or get them checked) this is not normal behavior.

Its a pretty common problem, especially due to the age. Very likely the alternator is on its way out, should cost about $150 to get it reconditioned. If the light comes on try giving the alternator a light tap with a hammer incase the bushes are sticking, only a band-aid though.

Exactly. Onnly other thing I'd add is check the plug on the Alternator to make sure it's not loose or coroded.

+1 for checking the plug.

Mine was loose once... had a similar issue. Reseated and been fine since.
