I have just recently purchased a 2002 SR5 Hilux 3.0 Turbo Diesel. It didn't come with the Handbook that Toyota supplies when the car is new. I'm not too sure about the aerial. Is it electric ..... and if so ..... where is the button/switch that makes it go up and down? Otherwise it must be a manual up and down. So not to sound silly ..... segments slide up and down within each other without effecting the overall height of the aerial. Cars back in the 70's had a little key to unlock/release the aerial if it was fully locked down. There doesn't seem to be anything like this for this to happen. My last few cars have always had electric aerials, so that is what makes me think this one (being an SR5 and having a flash Toyota Stereo) might be electric. Buttttttttt...... where is the button/switch?

Got the answer from the previous owner. Automatic electric aerial. The motor malfunctioned, so had it disconnected while in the "up" position.
