Hey,

I was wondering where the corolla rear speaker wiring can be located from the boot of a ZRE. I've tried looking in the boot but the only wiring i can find is the ones for the rear lights. I want to connect a line out converter so i can run a sub and amp off the stock headunit so im trying to find these wires or I'll need a location in the car which is sufficient enough for me to install it and connect the RCA's.

Which also reminds me that i saw 2 red wires on the drivers side when pulling everything up to check the wires. From a wiring loom diagram the red wire is the right rear speaker +, is there any way i can tell which one is which? they were both just red, one a little lighter than the other.

There are many red wires when it comes to car wiring. They are usually bunched together with electrical tape or in cable look to identify which component they belong to, but this is basically for the guys assembling the car. The only way to tell if it is for the head unit or not is to try and follow it to the front or rear of the car to see where it is heading. It would be too much of an unnecessary hassle to test each one to see what they are for because chances are, it's going to be +12v for something.

With that amount of effort, you are better off just installing the line out converter directly behind the head unit. Would be much easier then. Otherwise, if you can get access to your rear speakers easily, then that's an ideal place to tap it from. Basically just look at your rear speakers and see if you can take the trim off from around it.

line out converter will fit behind the head unit heaps of room behind there, that's where mine is right now
