Hi all,

I have an inquiry, i have recently put some castrol edge fully synthetic 10-60w into my 1992 ae92 twin cam corolla, I am now wondering if that was a good idea?, it is recomended to use 10-40w.

would i encounter any problems using the 10-60w?, or is it to thick, and could possibly cause the oil pump to over work, or oil to not run properly through the engine?

any feedback would be appreciated.

its not ideal, w60 is fairly heavy for a small 4 cyl (keeping in mind we do run 25w60 in 4 cyl track bikes and track cars- but they are working a hell of a lot harder). realistically w50 is ideal. w60 wont cause damage.

Personal preference and experience says don;t go silly on the oil just change it regularly to prolong the motors life. Penrite oil in my personal choice.

thanks for reply.

yeah i got the oil for free doing some work with bp/castrol, so i figured ill take the expensive stuff ;) the 0-40 i think would be to thin so i took 10-60
