Hub Swap

So, as you may know, celica's run a 5x100 PCD hub in them... which is an absolute pain in the ***** to get wheels for

So i had the crazy idea of swapping some hubs/rotors from a Gen III or newer camry (which has 5x114.3 - a VERY common size) on to my car.

I can get the parts cheap as chips, so does anyone see any reason this would not work. (aside from the ID of the hub being diff, etc. I have not done any measuring yet.

I dont trent... but i went to the wreckers with a set of verniers and did some measuring.

Next step is to measure my car

It is looking good thought... they look virtually identical to the hubs on my car.... just hope the measurements are the same

So, measurements

Front;

Bolt Spacing:

Gen 3 Cam: 51.7mm

Gen 5 Celi: 42.4mm

Hub-into-susp width:

Gen 3 Cam: 28.2mm

Gen 5 Celi: 27.85mm

CV shaft size:

Gen 3 Cam: 21.7mm

Gen 5 Celi: 21.53mm

Rear;

Bolt Spacing:

Gen 3 Cam: 70.1mm

Gen 5 Celi: 70.15mm

Hub-into-susp width:

Gen 3 Cam: 28.2mm

Gen 5 Celi: 28.2mm

Conclusions;

rear hub assembly will basicly bolt right on... easy as pie.

front hub assembly will not bolt on.. meaning either i need camry front suspension... (which will fit) or, just need to get the guts of the hub assy, rotor, etc

Mick I have a pair of front hubs from a gen3/4 Camry that I want to be rid of. Also have a pair of rotors (275x28mm) and some Avalon/gen4 Camry single piston calipers that fit them if you are interested.
