seat belt chime

Recommended Posts

anyone know how to turn off the seat belt reminder chime?

From memory , if you have a look under the seat (whichever you want to disable) there should be a cable attached .

Disconnect the cable/connector/lug and that should do the trick.

The cable should be at the end where the seat belt clips .

Doesn't that relate to the front airbag?

no , my 05 zze only has the 1 airbag , as you know thats on the steering wheel and the sensors are placed in certain parts of the car(which sense the impact) but not under the seat .. That IMO is def for the seat belt unless im off by a mile.

But having said that i'm not a toyota mechanic or poses great knowledge about srs so anything is possible with my assumptions.. :D

Here is how it works on my ZRE:

Turn power on and set counter to "ODO"

Turn power off

Turn power on, within 5 seconds, press and hold the trip-reset button

After 10 seconds, fasten the seatbelt (the interval has to be exactly 10 seconds)

The display will show B-on

Release the trip-reset button and press it again.

The display will show B-off

Turn power off and release the seatbelt.

DONE! :yahoo:
