Rpm Drops To Idle Levels When Coasting And Foot Off Throttle

I've got a 1997 V6 camry recently. It seems strange whenever I take my foot off the gas, my car's engine RPMs go from 2000 to under 1000 (idling levels) when i'm coasting at 60s, 70s or 80 km/hr, and while its still in gear (not in neutral). I think theres something wrong, i have tried a 1993 Toyota camry and it doesn't do this. Anyone came across with something like this with their car?

Auto? Are you in Drive? Overdrive on/off? Make any difference if you stick it in L/2?
