Years ago when I was living on an island in Bass Strait I had an old rear wheel drive corolla sedan (no idea of the year) that had mags with fat tyres and a goats head skull with horns cable tied to the grill. This car would take me onto countless beaches, blazing over deep sand as I followed the surf and rivalling many four wheel drives as long ground clearance was not a problem. This is one of the best cars I ever had...

I now find myself wanting to re-create a little of that car's magic by buying a rear wheel drive corolla wagon, fitting some wider tyres and maybe jacking it up a little. Can someone tell me which wagon was the last corolla with rear wheel drive... or do they still actually make them??? How much would I expect to pay for one and is it an easy car to jack up the suspension on without spending oodles of dough?

Thanks in advance

last rear driver wagon was probably late 70'-mid 80's not sure of the model code but they had a similar front end as the KE70

you could always get an ugly 4wd corolla wagon that was the AE95

i admit to having thoughts of puting my turbo 4AG into a 4WD corolla wagon but finding bolt in drive line to handle the power i suppose the celica gt would fit but with how much moding

yeah ae71/ke70 wagons or all rwd corollas where last made in 1985

assuming ur somewhere in Aus, on tradingpost/wreckers expect pay $500+ if u find one on internet forums or ebay $1000+

modding suspension would be expensive, have u thought about those similar looking subaru L series 4x4 (Leone) wagons?

as for the ae95, i dont find them that ugly :( well my old one anyways

amd older 3sfe rav4 would be a better option for a 3sgte convo... has been done almost as good as the mitsubishi rvr's
