hey,

just wondering what kind of medications you can bring overseas and do you need to have a prescription for the medication to allow you to bring them overseas?? thanks

I think you mean take overseas, and not bring medication in to Autsralia from overseas. I was 6 years in the USA and came back for 3 months each year. After my first year when I sustained DVT on the return journey, I was placed on medication at the time of travelling back to the USA. I had to have a letter from my GP on letter head paper stating the type of medication and why I was on that medication. I also had a second letter for the airlines, so I could be allocated either a bulk head seat or an aisle seat.

If you require medication whilst your away, you will need to take the extra medication with you, as prescritions cannot be filled overseas. Make sure this is also mentioned in the GP's letter, and that the actual medication(s) is properly labelled.

Yep, get the box from the chemist with your name on it at a minimum. But for more serious drugs do as mentioned above.
