mining job?

hey,

my dad has no experience and is looking for a mining job. im wondering where you can get a mining job (ie is it in western australia) what company and what is the salary like per year and do you need experience or anything. thanks.

The big mining areas are the Bowen basin in Queensland (it's bigger than Victoria), the north west of WA and the Hunter Valley.

You will need skills in something, unless you are taken on as an apprentice. Companies? My mate works at a recruitment place here in QLD http://www.trgaust.com/, his name is Tim Ware; can't find his business card at the moment.

Legislation will require a couple of safety cards; such as blue card (been renamed to something else) and any other job specific permits to work on site. For example an offsite mechanic wont need them, but I'd say they'd still need a blue card if they do any on-site call outs.

Just keep in mind they might get paid high, but everything is expensive in those towns to make up for it. Keep off the grog and you can save money.
