I thought this was going to be a phenolic spacer, which seem to work ok.

You would lose power and/or throttle response with this I would have thought, by adding (minor) extra length to the intake piping?

I can't remember too well, but I think that increasing runner length results in more torque (at the cost of power) - this would make the car feel a bit quicker around town when you put your foot down but in reality you're actually going to be moving slower higher in the rev range.

Although it looks very well built, I'm often a critic of anything that claims to improve power/torque AND fuel efficiency... I doubt if such an easy addition were possible Toyota or Lexus would have just ignored it when building the cars with these engines.
