Hi Guys,

I have got a 2003 3-door echo which only came with 1 key. Dad brought a key and got it cut then took it to Toyota to get coded but was told the key we had was a valet key and couldn't be copied. We have the service book with the key numbers does any-one have any suggestions to re-code the key we got cut??

Thanks Shan

If the plastic part of the key is grey, then that is the valet key. You need a key with the black plastic to be able to recode other keys from it. Or, buy another ecu and get the correct key for it. (there is an ecu on ebay atm but the seller doesn't have the key, nor do they care that it is useless without it.)
