Hello I am a fresh owner of an awesome 2002 Camry Touring wagon-123K,Racing green, V6 and crusing excellently-picked this gem up for $7400 with 4 brand new tyres, but alas no service history-Happy to be about the Toyota winners list and have two important questions-1)apart from adding water/fuel and oil to car i am mechanically lame so what should i do re;servicing-get a general service/and or tune-up-she is running well, no oil leaks etc or wait for 125 or 130K? 2)any recommendations for decent non-rip off mechanics in the brunswick/coburg general vicinty?.

Cheers

instead of being ripped off by mechanics, you can do the services yourself. changing the motor oil, oil filter and other necessary stuff shouldn't be too hard. doing so saved me a decent bit of money with my old car. all you need something to lift the front end of the car up so maybe car stands, an oil wrench, oil and oil filter for normal services. easy.

Do you have the service book?

Has the car been serviced at the 120k mark? Replace brake fluid + the 127,500 stuff/

Next service 127,500 (Minor service) Extremely easy to do youself!

Replace engine oil and filter,

Inspect air filter, brake pads/discs, brake pipes/hoses, steering wheel linkages, drive shaft boots, ball joints and dust covers

Tighten drive shaft bolts.

135k Andother fairly easy one to do too.

Replace engine oil and filter,

Replace engine coolant

Replace air filter

Tighten Drive shaft bolts

Inspect everything listed above and brake clutch fluid, power steering fluid, battery, drive blets, transmission fluid, suspension and parking brakes

Replace transmission fluid for sever operating conditions

142,500 - same as 127,500

150k - biggest thing would be the timing belt. Probably not the most fun job :)
