C series gearbox mount compatibility
Apologies for the month late reply, hope this isn't considered necroposting. Your build thread has been very helpful in my research for this project, drawn a lot of inspiration from it! Hope to see it when it's all finished up! I think you're right, the C60 is gonna be the better option. I don't mind having to notch the battery tray and all that, and judging by your build there'll be no issues with the gearbox mounts that way either. Did you end up finding driveshafts that worked for you? I'm sticking with the factory AE112 hubs, so I doubt we'd find the same solution, but I've got no clue where to even start for that. I guess it's something I'd have to figure out once the engine and gearbox are in the car, taking measurements with the wheels on the ground and counting splines, hey? -

Need help wiring OEM reverse camera to aftermarket head unit.
Has anyone managed to do this? I have done a lot of research and cannot find explicit instructions on this. Had my dash ripped apart and everything was mostly easy with the Aerpro kit for my Sony ax1000 head unit, until I came to the reverse camera. I believe it is the 24 pin that has only 4 wires running from it that deals with the reverse cam. The head unit has an RCA input for camera, but obviously the stock one has no such thing. Pretty lost on where to go, for now I have put everything back as it was and it works as normal. Is there some adapter I need to buy? This was referenced on a couple old forums but no links were posted, so I don't know what I'm looking for. Or is this more of a DIY solder job? In which case I'd probably just get a pro to do it as I don't wanna mess anything up. Any help is appreciated. Another small problem is the Aerpro steering wheel control harness comes to a cable that looks to be a 3.5 mm labelled "sony combined stalk". There is nowhere for this to go on the headunit, does it plug in somewhere else? I was vaguely following a youtube video but the guy totally skipped over this part. I can post pics if they would help. -

CVT AutoTransmission
Looking at purchasing a 2006 2.4L RAV 4 . 4x4 with an automatic transmission , does anyone know if that transmission is a CVT or the normal geared transmission , I have been told by an auto transmission workshop that the CTV transmission is not suitable for towing , and i intend to tow a small aluminium boat. Thanks in advance ,, Steve -

2003 2.7 hilux 3rzfe driving along and engine died, doesn’t seem to have any spark. Scan tool is not picking up any codes. Thinking a CAS but not 100% sure. -

Camry/Aurion Towbar
I cannot give a definite answer but I mainly recall seeing towbars fitted with a cutout to the rear bumper. I have previously seen towbars fitted to Aurions in the wreckers but too much effort [for me] to remove them and then fit. You want to make certain that you fit a quality heavy duty towbar to make it worthwhile. Attached fitting instructions will give you an idea of what is involved. Aurion: Drive Shaft
2007 Aurion atx/touring..180Kkm. Old thread...price update 😉 My sons driveshaft has split boots, leaked grease everywhere and the cv joint is rough and worn. He’s a conservative driver. I'm guessing that distance is reasonably ok and typical? My daughter has one to so I might look at hers a bit closer. Hers has done 190Kkm. Cost at the local mechanic was ~ $500 inclusive of labour and a reconditioned drive shaft. -

Camry/Aurion Towbar
Hello all, I have some done some searching on the topic of towbars for the Aurion Touring 2010 - 2011. I actually have two of these. A silver one and a grey. I love these cars. I need to put a towbar on at least one. From the research I have done it seems you have to cut out a bit of the lower valance or rear bumper for the towbar to fit. Then I saw one the other day as it flashed past in the traffic and it appeared to exit under the bumper and rise up, hence no cut in bumper. Was I seeing things ? Or is there one available that fits like that. Thank you in advance for any help. -

Cold Air Intake P-Plate Legal or illegal in Victoria?
Ok I forgot to check how old that post is, but anyway do yo still know if Green P-platers like me are allowed to have a Cold Air Intake fitted in anyway?- question
