Howdy Guys!!

I'm talking to you'all from way up younder in North America, specifically, East Texas.

I've got an expensive problem I'm trying to clear up.

I have a 1971 Toyota forklift that I bought cheap last year but has a dead engine. The forklift model is an FG20 with a 2R engine. I have rebuilt the engine with a turned crank with fresh rod and main bearings, new cam, gear, and lifters, .030" overbore with new pistons, rings, and rod bushings, and new valves and guides.

Needless to say, I've got a pile of money invested so far. My problem now is I need a rocker shaft, valve rockers, and pushrods.

These items are not available anywhere in North America since the 2R engine was never used up here. Somehow, I wound up with the only Toyota forklift of this model in North Ameerica.

This is the reason I am contacting you fellows down under for help. It seems that Toyota only sold vehicles with this 2R engine in Australia and the Orient.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,

Don Shilling

I know nothing about forklifts, but possibly the website below might be a start here in Australia. Contact the Spare Parts at the first website link which is in Australia. They maybe able to assist or direct you someone who can. The second website link is USA based of the same company, which you may have already tried

Thanks Ozzcaddy,

I've contacted these folks a few months ago to no success. I'm hoping to find someone with good used parts laying around. I understand a 12R engine is the same as a 2R but has a larger cyl bore. All other internal parts should be the same. These engines were used in Toyota cars and trucks in the late 60's and early 70's.
