Hi team.

Just thought I'd share this....you can manually get the fault codes out of the Corolla 01-05 ZZE122R without a scan tool.

Although these cars have an OBDII port they are not fully OBDII compliant.

This is a link to a web site that I am personally involved in - we write free OBD data for cars.

www.obd-obdii.com and click on obd diagnostic data then scroll down to find the Toyota/Corolla section.

i've looked at this site and can find nothing about the early cars. what i found says the generic scan tools dont always work. i've treid to follow the instructions, but you get nothing when clicking on the Toyota/lexus title

we have a carman scan tool at work and it works just fine on 02 and later corollas with the OBD type plug
