Can someone explain to me why with slotted rotors the 'outside' (i.e. the part of the slots furthest from the hub) is the first to touch the pad as the wheel rotates? Won't this force brake dust into the slots toward the center of the rotor?

I would have thought installing it the other way would kind of vent the dust and keep the slots cleaner...
