Where do you mount your car TV antenna?

Recommended Posts

I'm planning to install my DVD player with the TV tuner on tomorrow.

Where is the best spot to mount the TV antenna?

Another problem is the TV antenna cable I got is not very long about 1 meter.

I'm thinking just mount it on top of the center dash close to the windscreen but where should I run the cable through?

Any other suggestions are welcome?

Hmm

Extend the cable run it through your dash and up the RH drivers side door thing (no idea what its called)

The panel where a curtain airbag usually is and then stick it onto the top corner or your windscreen

I'm not sure if your way will get as much reception but i've seen a few photos and the antenna is usually mounted ontop of the windscreen

Should be your best bet mate.

Do it once, do it right and you'll be much happier than trying to stretch the 1m cable

Just a question

Do you have a link to your HU?

Is it DVB-TV compatible? (Digital TV)

Mission failed today.

I have done all the hardworks and have the old headunit removed.

Before I put the new headunit on, the fascia kit that I bought from US ebay does not fit the hole.

I thought they were the same unfortunately they are slightly larger than Australia version.

I ended up spending another $50 to get correct one from ryda.com.au.

I also need to buy an adaptor to convert TV antenna output from Din to ISO, the TV antenna I bought is for ISO connector.

Have to wait for another week to get this job done.

Depends where you are, i guess!

I'm from the east and get great reception, once in the city i get no signal or the picture keep getting dropped out.

On the Eastern FWY, i can still get reception and sometimes picture will freeze.

Here is a video i took when i parked on my driveway at home:

I bought this TV antenna from ebay but the connector is for car radio antenna.

I have just converted it to a standard TV antenna connector by soldering the wires together.

I will try to install the antenna this weekend at the location you guys suggested.

Any suggestions and guidances how to remove the panel where a curtain airbag usually is?

I am going to hide the wiring inside the panel.

Very bad signal for my tv antenna in Melbourne.

I can only receiving SBS.

Mine is not the digital TV tuner, not sure anything to do with that.

Does your tv antenna comes with the booster or amplifier?

Should i get one with the booster?
