Hi everyone;

At the moment I have a "96 80Series but am looking to buy a 1993 Hilux LN106R as well. Can anyone tell me if they are a good buy or should I steer clear of them.The vehicle has done 380k and has had some work done to it, fuel pump rebuilt, new bushes, rebuilt rear diff and some other smaller stuff.

Any info will be greatly appreciated

Dwayne

I have the 89 LN106R and have done a hell of a lot of work on it

bought it with about 280k on the clock, and have had the gearbox (2nd gear) f*ck out ($1300)

Did the clutch myself at the same time, done all the bearings, the unijoints, and just replaced the cylinder head, (which was cracked from day 1 I think)

It's been going througha terrible amount of coolant, and I thought it was just the head gasket, but turns out....

Anyway, I love the LN106R, but depending on how it's been treated - could mean a lot of expense - approx $4000 in three years (and that's doing everything myslef, except for the gearbox, which i removed and had carted away)
