no, as you are still using the same clutch. the bedding in procedure is only used for new clutches. but it is recommended you bleed the hydraulic clutch line after the sort of work you've done

Oh yeh, well i called toyota, and they said they would charge me $185 in total labour to bleed it after they adjust the height...

Bleeding the clutch is definitely not a $185 job. Surely you must have a mate who is a bit mechanically minded to help out.

This should be an easy fix unless the slave cylinder is inside the bell housing. Two people should be able to knock this over in about 20 mins for most cars I can think of.

bloody hell that is a rip off!

save yourself $180 and do it yourself, it really is simple.

get some clear silicone tubing ($2 at an aquarium for a metre or two) and an old coke bottle or make a bleeder bottle (i'm assuming you know what this looks like). put the hose over the bleeder valve on the clutch slave cylinder, and open the valve slightly (using an 8mm flare wrench) until the fluid starts to run out slightly.

once this starts happening, go into the car and start pumping the clutch pedal manually with your hand. you need to do it by hand as the pedal won't return by itself. keep doing this until either the fluid runs clear or no more bubbles come out. tighten the bleeder valve until it's snug (or to 8Nm if you're anal), and you're done!

it's definitely not a $180 job. i can bleed the clutch on my car in about 5 mins, if that.

      Toyota Landcruiser problems

      Hi This is not so much to the forum but to Toyota who i cannot contact!! Purchased new 300 Landcruiser ($120k) & generally happy with the drive but frustrated with fixing problems. bonnet need restuffing took me 5 Toyota dealerships & a lot time i cannot afford for a 3 day job afer it had been booked into Heidelberg & on collection did not perform the stuffing to stock it shaking & reflecting strong sun light into drivers eyes when vehicle was clean. when i collected vehicle from overnight service (2 days) after 2nd visit with some booking confusion they told me they need vehicle for 3 days just prior to me driving from Melbourne to Flinders rangers SA again very costly in time to me because a bolt had fallen out of turbo charger (20k klm). i have had a list if issues none of the 5 Toyota dealerships visited can resolve: no guests can close the rear hatch because you need to slam it & most do not have the strength even if they new what to do - seal has been replaced. i have never been able to understand logic of why no rear hatch release was included in vehicle, 1st vehicle i have owned without boot release? no location for key apart from centre console where key is lost amongst so many items unable to reverse any trailer, boat or horse float as vehicle brakes & locks up which is dangerous to horses being thrown & reversing into drive with traffic on a busy road - every possible idea has been suggested again very expensive on my time but no one can resolve! Unable to get google maps or music without plugging cord into phone - very aged technology but safari same vehicle does not need cord!! do not understand this logic other than justifying another $20k Radio or music must be reloaded after each phone call or restarting vehicle - some 6-8 buttons to reload music - very frustrating. AM 3AW is muffled & very poor quality (not my hearing). Alarm of beeping drivers door cannot be turned off - i do not need vehicle to alarm warning me of drivers door open as i am the one who purposely have left door open - very frustrating & no need for alarm beeping, cannot turn this off!! Ordered dark interior but got light interior ?? which i accepted on the condition the carpet was not light beige, guess what it was. Why would a country farm 4 wheel drive have white carpet? Toyota what are you thinking? i have a black cattle working dog so my rear interior is trashed & the fabric entraps dog hair unlike a good quality wool carpet, poor quality synthetic which is not serviceable like previous BMW quality. i would love Toyota direct (not dealerships / agents who are not trained) to help me resolve direct. Direct contact with Toyota not possible, customer service from dealerships disappointing based on cost of vehicle, i believe i am a very reasonable person.

      Fuel Filter - Change or not

      This is the conundrum: 200 series Landcruiser diesel. As the fuel filter get dirtier, in theory it is filtering more as it is becoming somewhat restrictive. As long as the fuel pressure remains the same on the other side, should you change the filter. I know of owners who change their fuel each time they change engine oil. This is not the same as an air filter which as it get dirty it restrict the air flow. Or do you simply change the filter because it's 'the right thing to do'?

      Buying 3rd hand 2010 Aurion Sportvio for $9000

      I bought my 2006 ATX Aurion back in 2015/2016 with 160,000 KMs on the odometer. 8 years and 100,000+ KMs later, still going strong. I do a lot of preventative maintenance with regular engine oil changes. Transmission fluid has been changed and also the coolant. In that time period, I have replaced the water pump, alternator and both front and rear struts/shock absorbers. In hindsight, I have replaced brake pads much sooner than needed. Overall, future maintenance should not be expensive.

      KUN26R Hilux Single Cab - Tray to Tub

      Removing low beam bulb 2014 Camry

      Fitting on the headlight bulb appears to be the usual twist to release and lock. Definitely do not try to brute force the removal because you will definitely break something like the headlight housing. Suggest that you use some WD-40 and have a real good look at the existing bulb using a mirror and a good light source. Then have a few wiggles attempts to loosen the existing bulb so it can then be removed. If this does not work, then time to be smart and not stubborn. Far better to pay a $15 fitting fee than the exorbitant cost to replace a damaged headlight assembly.
