1992 Celica SX ST184R - Funny low noise driving off.

Recommended Posts

Hi, just had my Celica baby for just over 3 weeks now... and loving it!

Ok, here's my scenario and questions:

When I start the car in the morning and drive off, there is a low (whoomp, whoomp, whoomp). It sounded like a flat tyre at first with the windows up but it wasn't.

Secondly, when on the freeway at around 80kph or more, when I press on the brake there is a judder on the brake pedal (I don't think from memory that it can be felt in the steering wheel). I read online somewhere that this might indicate the rear discs - it this true? Is it cheaper to just replace the rear discs and brake pads than try to get them machined...?

What are the Celica experts thoughts here...? Many thanks if you can help!
