Hi people,

I bought a new rav4 edge auto last 2001 and loved it until i have the jerking problem last week. When i brought it to the dealer, they said i need to replace my ecu and possibly transmission which will cause a lot. I wasn' t aware of the common problem until i googled it and found out that many other australians are experiencing it. A recall has also been made in USA for this problem but not in AU? How come? What troubles me is that the dealer and toyota said it is safe to drive even if i have the jerking problem.

Is there someone / website / firm in Australia that is already doing something about it that I can join or sign?

Thanks alot guys

Hi I hope you rectified the problem with your rav4. If not the only thing I can offer is my services.

If your car has service history up to date it will be covered under warranty ( must be up to date and serviced by Toyota till current).

If not I can offer to repair this problem. You will need a new ecu and some work done to the transmission. Costs vary depending on damage to the transmission.

But my prices are fair compared to dealers charging 2k plus.
