Howdy,

I just got myself a shiny 2007 Aurion Touring last week. All seems well so far, except on my first drive up to work today, The front left parking sensor continually indicated something with extremely close when I came up behind another car in traffic. From my understanding, the sensor can only 'see' about 50cm or so... but this thing is going off when the car is still 4 or 5 metres away.

Any ideas? I'm guessing with my luck this isn't a common issue

Hi Neowolf,

I have a 2010 Touring and I was reading the owners manual and I recall it saying that if a sensor keeps going off it's telling you the sensor needs cleaning, not sure if it tells you that on the dash screen or not, there may be dust/dirt or even polish in it affecting/blocking the sensor, check your manual and see, if you didn't get a manual with the car let me know and I can look it up in mine but I am pretty sure that is what it means, as for cleaning it, I didn't read that bit in the manual but I am guessing it will tell you how, other than that if you clean it and it still goes off it may be faulty. You are right though about the sensor's range, it starts at 50cm.
