Power Steering for 89 Hilux 4 x 2

Recommended Posts

I have recently purchased an 89 Hilux with a Tipper tray to restore but it has came standard with non-power steering. I managed to pick up a power steering box and all associated hardware as I understood that this model did have the option of power steering. After I have pulled everything out I measured the distance from the bolts to the bottom of the steering column and there appears to be a 65mm difference between the 2 steering boxes. Can anyone advise if I need to get the steering column altered or is their a trick to it.

Thanks

Mike
