Hey guys, can't decide on whether to upgrade to 18s wheel package or buy new set of tyres.

If i buy new tyres, for 17s and good brand it'll be around 220 per tyre, if i upgrade to wheel package it should be 1300.

What do you think?

No i'm not.

Thing with 18s is i would want to run 45 series tyres or bigger to make the ride comfy. And what to do with the stock 17s?

it is really all up to you , on what you like .

17's = new tyres

18's = new wheels still comfortable to ride

19's = style and slightly rougher

have a look at this site(Link).

just upload an image of your car (EITHER SIDE , and ONLY the side of the car) and pick a style you like and it will give you a ROUGH visual .

its alright to give a depiction of what your car will look like on 18s, but its best to actually trial fit some for a more realistic view.

EDIT : sorry aem , just had my 18s sold today.

I got the wheels in mind just not sure about parting with my oem 17s. The current ride is just too smooth...

That said, anyone have experience with 225/40/18s on the Camry, say with Kumhos?

Running 225/45/18 currently on my car. But I can't really tell you how it rides as I'm on coilovers. Personally speaking, if 235/40 18s fit, i'd go with those because it is way cheaper than 225s being more common and wont affect your speedo reading significantly.

Which Kumho's you thinking of using? I have the KU36s and they are grippy.

If i do go with 18s it will be a swap over from my other car which is 225/40/18 (Ecsta Sevens KU23 i think). So the deal is this.

Camry ===> 225/40/18s from other car (50% tread left).

Other Car ===> 225/35/19s (roughly $1700, new tyres probably Nexen N8000).

ETA roughly 3-6 months.

Or get new 17" oem brand (Michellin) tyres for roughly $900 (set of 4)

ETA roughly 3-6 months.
