'93 Celica running rough

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone ... long story but I'll try to keep it short!

'93 Celica, radiator top hose neck collapsed, lost coolant, engine overheated ... twice :-(

Replaced radiator, filled with fresh coolant, new radiator cap, started up, ran up to temperature, all seems ok with the cooling sysem ... BUT now engine is missing badly under load (I was concerned about blown head gasket from overheating but all seems ok there).

It was running fine before radiator issue but since overheating is missing badly, especially under load.

Could the overheating have damaged some other component causing the rough running?

I am quite sure there are no head gasket issues ... there is no pressurisation of coolant system or water in oil etc.

Not sure where to start looking so I would really appreciate any advice you guys can offer!

Cheers,

Roden

There is a possibility that the head has warped, but knowing Toyota engines, I would say that the headgasket is goners... is it affecting the oil in the engine or water in the cooling system? If not then its blown between cylinders...
