Hi all i had to fix,s an oil leak on my wife gen 6 1994 st204

in the oil pan

ok got that done but it is not the only one !!

it is leaking down the side allso where the timing belt is :(

i know most common issus with toyotas this old seem to be the following

cam seal ,crank seal ,oil pump seal ,oil pump o-ring

but i have never done one ?

what is the best way to go about it ?

does the engine have to come out ?

thanks lots remo

you dont need to pull the engine to do these seals, although it is a pain in the *****.

you will need to remove the RHS top engine mount and support the engine underneath, pull the timing belt cover, timing belt, pullys, etc

its probably a good chance to replace the timing belt, etc too

How many k's has your car done? The most common leaks on the cambelt side of the motor are:

180,000k - the rocker cover gasket (happens on most Toyotas)

200,000k - the power steering box (just keep topping it up. They need to be removed and recod' - not expensive)

200,000k + Change the oil pump o-ring ($100) when you do your cambelt and your water pump ($75)

Not sure when cam or crank seals go, but youd want to do these at 300k
