A bit of background for you first...

I bought a second hand Hilux SR5 dual cab (2008 model) from a dealership with 34000kms on it.

The previous owner was a business and the vehicle was used as the company car.

After owning the car for about a month I noticed that the injectors were making quite a loud pinging noise.

I took it back to the dealership and was told that they were fried but it wasn't their problem because I had installed a chip to increase the power.

The problem is, I didn't install the chip. The modification was already on the Hilux when I bought it.

Toyota claim that it was the chip that fried the injectors and after arguing with them they agreed that they were responsible and all I had to do was pay for the labor.

Although I was unimpressed with this, atleast it was cheaper than paying for the injectors as well...

Now, my problem is in order to maintain my warranty Toyota have disconnected the chip (even though I bought it with this already installed) but since then I have discovered that there is a known fault with the injectors and it might not have had anything to do with the chip at all!

Has anyone else had an issue like this and would 'you' put it on the dyno and reinstall the chip if it was your car?

There was a HUGE decrease in power once the chip was disconnected and I want it back!

I would appreciate any advice you can offer.

Thanks in advance.
