Cruise control 2012 yaris YR

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2012 Yaris YR 1.3 manual (as cheap as they come :))

I want to fit cruise control to it, i "acquired" a cruise control stalk, and installed it, the cruise light comes up on the dash when I flick it on, though I cannot get it to actually work, the dash has the set light, though will not work at all. I got told it needs a clutch switch, though this being a 2012, it should already have one in there, (I need to put my foot on the clutch for it to start)

Anyone shed some light on why its not working?
