To all you Melbourne cruisers out there, how many of you actually think its necessary for the new speed cameras on the Monash parking lot? I don't really hear of speed-related accidents on there, now they've introduced a huge system that gets incoming and out going traffic, front and rear plates; Seems like revenue raising at its finest.

Going from 100 to an 80 zone doesn't feel right, NO BODY does 80 in that area.. and when you do, you feel like a *****, slowing down traffic. I dare say we may see an increase in small accidents in that area as people drop the anchors to avoid a fine.

For a visual..

People from the south east who brave the Monash during peak times will know what I'm referring to.. At times traffic will be bumper to bumper from Wellington road all the way to the domain tunnel!

With these cameras now in place, combined with the traffic conditions, I don't think i'll bother driving in anymore!

I must admit. I do 80 in that area and feel like a ***** as everyone gets mad but i'm just trying to not get fined!
