Sway bar - Handling improvements

Recommended Posts

Dear Toyota friends, :)

I wish to understand if a rear sway bar for my car will be a good improvement. I don’t want to have any crazy oversteer or something if I adjust the suspension any further. :P

So far 18" wheels, the Sportivo shocks and lowered King springs are my changes.

What do you recommend or have you experienced a rear sway bar with similar mods?

Thanks ;)

as far as i know, putting on a rear swaybar wouldnt give you crazy oversteer :P

it should make your car more neutral, so that it doesnt understeer so much...

well im getting one soonish, so ill let you know what its like on a Camry B)

maybe you could go front and rear struts instead

to my understanding not 100% certain

they are designed to stop chassis twist (or help lessen not stop)

so that way when cornering it will give you a much tighter more responsive turn and less roll

as for sway bars if you go rear go the front aswell if its handling your after may aswell go full job rather than just half

I got a whiteline rear sway bar but on and its much better around roundabouts. It steers a little differently too. Around a tight roundabout where the car would previously slide at speed it now drives around the thing :) I have had it on less than 24 hours so still testing.

this is confusing. do you mean struts as in braces or damper/shocks?

rear strut brace is useless on our cars.

as for sway bars, unless youre doing heavy track work then an aftermarket rear is all you need on ANY FWD street/daily car. not to mention that many companies dont make front sway bars are theyre not needed.
