Hey guys, its been a really long time.

Just thought i'd make a build thread for my new project :) Its a series 2 AE92 Levin, currently has a 16v with a blown head gasket. Going to be dropping a blacktop 20v in there asap, along with (hopefully) a 6 speed box, with LSD if I can afford it.

Has electric windows, mirrors and sunroof, and possibly optional spoiler with brake light? I've seen ones without the brake light in them before, not sure about it though.

Genuine 14" Watanabe F8's- in desperate need of restoration though.

Its black too, which is a bonus, i'm lead to believe that there were less made in black?

Plans are the aforementioned blacktop and manual swap, coilovers, new discs- slotted fronts and just new rears I think, restore watanabes to former glory, replace all bushes, replace ball joints, upgrade swaybars, find a way to make my AE92 FX-GT Cusco 2 point brace fit (it hits on the bonnet, i'm going to try raising the back like the cool kids, moar air flow!).

Interior is pretty nice, considering. Dash is cracked in 3 places, but my regular ae92 dash mat covers that up nicely. Seats are in great condition, which i'm really happy about, theyre such awesome seats, so comfortable. Going to get a double din head unit and new speakers, replace cluster bulbs, just generally freshen up the interior.

Yeah, not sure what else to say right now. Its been one of my couple of dream cars (the other that i'm actively working towards being a 94 R32 GTR V Spec II) for a long time, cant believe I actually own one. Going to enjoy building, owning, and driving it :)

Cheers dude, I love it- forever finding new things on it too. Noticed the PWR and MANU buttons, along with some obscure red button that isnt labeled on the gear selector trim today. Can anyone shed some light on what they do? (Obviously 'power' and 'manual')

A guy that i'm sure at least the NSW guys will know, Paolo, with the green 20v hatch is helping me fix it up- and noodlez/ayrton/the dude with the e30 and e36 with inline 6 engines, when he can. Really grateful for both their help, this build wouldnt be possible without them.

Pulled the radiator out today.+ new headlight bulbs (I bought new ones for my seca early this year, forgot that I got 2 pairs, found the second pair in a drawer yesterday :D ) + domo (not really visible in this photos. Sitting behind the rear vision mirror)

      ASV50 Camry Head Unit Options

      I have a 2014 Atara SL with the JBL Navigation head unit, it's getting a bit long in the tooth and I'd like to add Android Auto so I'm curious about what other owners have done. I don't want to lose the reverse camera and the dynamic guidelines, there are also some other car functions as part of it that would be good to keep. I have seen plug in modules that wire in that add the functionality to the existing unit so it's possible to keep it and switch between stock and android but I haven't seen a specific one for this model JBL unit. Has anyone had success with a later model Toyota unit bolting in?

      1zz-fe engine rebuild

      Hello all, Working on my 2002 corolla. It needs a engine rebuild due to burning oil out the back. It has over 400,000 km on it and I havent looked after it. Everything is still original on the motor. The only thing that I have replaced, was the brushes on the alternator. They were completely worn out. I am pulling the motor/gearbox out of the car. Wont know the condition of the block or head until I strip it down. I know the design of the piston where changed in the 2003+ models for more oil holes, which stopped the buring of oil. 1. Was there any other changes made ? 2. Does anyone know of where I can get a engine rebuild kit for 1zz-fe motor in australia ? 3. I have only found one place that I can get a new short motor built but that is in the USA and they do ship to australia but was hoping to find something in australia Thanks for help. Dragon

      2007 Corolla Sedan rear seatbelt question

      Hi everyone, new member here. I've got a small problem which I'm hoping you can help me sort out. I've read the "read me first" thread and done a forum search so apologies if this ends up being a repost. Ok, so I've just has a bloody mouse chew through the rear seat and half (but only half) of every rear seatbelt. Which is nice. So I need to replace them. The problem I appear to have is that none of the local breakers have any suitable vehicles that I can pull them from and the ones I ordered and was sent from the bay of fleas has the wrong brackets on, despite being allegedly for that vehicle. Further searches come up with every seller showing the wrong bracket, so either I've got a special car which is different just because, or (more likely) they don't know their ****s from their elbows what they're selling. I'm after some aftermarket ones as they never get used and just need to be there to get through rego so don't really want to spend a heap of cash I don't have on genuine parts if I can avoid it. I've replaced the centre one (a mate just randomly had it in a box in his shed, which was handy) but still need the left and right. I've attached the bracket type I pulled from the car and need. Is this a standard generic Toyota seatbelt or specific to the 2007 Corolla sedan? Does is need to be specifically for the rear left and right or do front ones fit? Does anyone know where I can source an aftermarket pair? I will really, really appreciate any help offered with this, I know my way around a box of tools but very little about mechanikicing (which is part of the reason why I bought this car - something simple to learn on as repairs/replacements become due) and this is a simple fix which is turning into a drawn out headache.
