Hi

I've just picked up a 2008 Hiace that was a stolen and recovered job.

All's good but the immobiliser was damaged during the theft so someone has made made a few electrical bypass moves as a new immobiliser has not been fitted.

I'm not worried about the immobiliser - but the radio problem is of concern

The radio doesn't hold any set stations. You set the radio and when you turn the van back on they are gone. Also when you turn the van on you can hear the CD player going though a "reboot". Lots of internal gear noises and such like

So I suspect the permanent power line to the radio is disconnected with only the accessory line running.

1. Is the permanent (or constant 12v) line blue with a yellow stripe? Or another colour?

2. Tracing from the back of the radio does the permanent (or constant 12v) line come out into the loom at the passenger's left foot side, if not where does it run to?

Of course I have assumed this is the issue (lack of permanent power so memory settings are lost) if I am way off please let me know what you think the problem might be.

Also I don't have an owner's manual but I bought one on eBay but it still hasn't arrived. So may I also ask this question?

On the radio are phone answer/disconnect buttons so do they work by Bluetooth, or do you connect the phone to the radio via the MP3 input socket on the front of the radio?

Thanks guys

Matt
