5,000km service

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Well my little baby Stivo is going in for it's 5,000km service and was just curious to see what am I expected to pay for this service as well as what actually gets done in this service.

Im gathering an oil change but what else exactly?

Should I ask for anything in particular to be done?

Cheers all

:)

in perth, w.a. $190 inc gst [safety inspection, change engine oil and oil filter],

note: every 5,000km service involves the same car maintenance [engine oil, oil filter]

only $140 inc gst [if you change engine oil, and oil filter your self] - however MUST be completed by "certified mechanic" and for warranty use "toyota" oil filter

* Funny - the service folks gave me a hard time for using "rico" oil filter, but the were fine with the trd cai :P

TRD CAI can still void the engine warranty if Toyota can prove it caused your engine/electronics to fail. Eg, using an oiled filter on the CAI which could contaminate the MAF

the sensor in the tube after your airbox.

It's a hotwire Mass Airflow sensor, which really dont like oiled filters. The sensor is used by the ECU to determine how much air is going into the engine, so it knows how much fuel to pump in ;)

no. The CAI was not factory fitted and not an optional accessory in Australia for the car. It's pretty obvious that the TRD intake isn't designed for australian cars when you see it doesn't bolt in perfectly.

The factory ECU is tuned for the induction of the stock airbox and filter.
