04 Echo rubbing whirring sound from front left wheel when turning hard right

Hi all, I have just today brought a 04 Echo 3 door, I test drove it 2 times and put it through the ringer a bit and could not fault it. I purchased the car and drove it for about 2 hours this afternoon and from no where a fairly loud rubbing/grinding/whirring sound appears to be coming from the front passenger side wheel area when turning hard right. It does not seem to do this when turning left at all, I have owned Camry's over the years without hearing this same noise. There is no clunking like it is a CV, am thinking wheel bearing, but it is only when it is turning right. any ideas, knowledge would be greatfull
