Amps - no RCA

Hey guys,

As the title suggests are there any good amps which connect directly to the stock H/U in the corolla without the need of RCA ports ?

Any key words I should try typing into google to find this sort?

I don't need a very powerful one.. just enough to get a 10", 400w peak power, going.

Oh, and also I'm on a tight budget.. so around <$250.

Any help is much appreciated.

So you wanted an amp that will run the std head unit without using any rca converter?

If that is so, Audison SRX series is the one that I know, it can uses your speaker signal as its signal IN. I think u can get the two channel for that budget.

yes it should be around there, or up to 350, depending on how and where u get it.

Don't be fooled by its low power figure (rated by RMS), coz this amp will produce pure power and sound quality bliss.

Or you can do what i did and add a stinger rca converter box to ur stockie HU for 25-45 bucks from JB hifi. then u can use any amp!

the sound will not sound as good as true RCA signals, but it is a cheap effective way to overcome the problem of having head unit without rca out.

Oh ok.. then i guess i'll have to go down that path (RCA converter) ... if there aren't any amps that can hook on..

I was browsing around and came around an MTX amp.. which has this "Smart-Engage" thing.. and I think I read that it can be hooked up to a h/u without RCA.. can anyone clarify this ?? I could have misinterpreted it

Christmas sales are on now :D :D so its a great time to buy stuff, hehe

edit: also if an amp has speaker level inputs, does that mean it can run off a h/u without RCA outputs to drive a sub ?
