question re repairing door sill trims '90 Camry

Just wondered if anyone had come across a trick (or workaround) to repair the plastic door sill trims screw mounts?

The ones on my vehicle the screws simply keep spinning around without tightening and when the trim is removed you can see why. Each trim has a plastic "wedge" under each hoe that snaps into a rectangular hole in the door sill panel and then the screw goes into this. But in this case the screw can no longer get purchase.

Is there any solution anyone can think of without the need for me to go to Toyota for parts replacement?

Any opinions welcome as something someone says may trigger and idea to me for a way to repair it.

Thanks
