Hi, I have a 2004 Avalon, but no horn. It still sounds when trying to use the remote to lock the cars with the doors open so I am lead to believe the problem is the horn pad. Does anyone a have any experience replacing this that could let me know the procedure

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,

Before you check the start on the horn pad make sure you take the air bag fuse out which should be near the accelerator pedal. behind the steering is two Phillips head screws you will be able feel them with your fingers you will need to undo those screws with a L shaped Phillips head screw driver, that will release the horn pad make sure you take out the horn fuse as well.

Chris,The Avalon has two horn systems. The one that sounds when you lock and unlock the doors is not the one that sounds when you press the horn pad on the steering wheel. I suggest you check the horn fuse before dismantling any thing.

Cheers Brian
