I checked my oil today and was surprised to see the lever indicate more oil than i require. Its about 1cm over the MAx mark. The last service was a 40,000km service and i have since covered 2000km. It was serviced by Toyota and i supplied my own oil which they never returened the remainder to me hence i suspect they used the full bottle! Would too much engine oil harm the engine?

if you over fill your motor with oil yes it can be harmful to the motor!

it messes with the pressure, valves and gaskets.

but your ok cos its not that much.

Its never happened to me, the oil level on the dip stick has never exceeded the MAX mark so i am very surprised. Maybe they did it for a reason like with the weather being so much warmer more oil could be used?
