Hi All,

I have got a 2006 Toyota Camry Sportivo 2.4l 4cyl (ACV40R 2A) and my sunroof is doing my head in. When I drive in my car the sunroof causes a constant rattling / ticking noise, for example when I go around a corner or travel on rougher road surfaces. I saw an aftermarket sunroof installer recently and was told that the cable drive assembly, in particular one of the cable drive lift arms, is likely to be problem for the noise. So, I saw my local Toyota dealership to buy that replacement part (63205A) and was shocked that the part is around 1k new. I am now trying to source the identical part in the US since Toyota parts appear to be a lot more affordable over there. The only problem is, though, that the number which my local Toyota dealership provided me is apparently an illustration number not the actual part number itself. I tried to find out the part number from Toyota, but they will not tell me. I guess they know that I am trying to source the part overseas then and they are not making any business.

Does anyone can assist in finding out the part number for that particular part in my sunroof? Does anyone know of any places where I can get the same part, even in Australia without having to pay a fortune? Any suggestions would be most welcomed.

Regards.

Try sourcing the part from either Japan or Dubai through Amayama - heaps cheaper than going through Toyota Australia

FYI 63205A is only half the number - standard Toyota part numbers are in a #####-##### format. A quick search of a US-spec 2006 Camry (Australian models don't always show up in the databases you can find online) shows that part number as being 63205-0E020 (63205A is the "category" for the cable sub-assembly under which there might be several different part numbers for sub-components or for variations)

However, try and confirm the proper Australian part number with Toyota first (maybe try a different dealership, sometimes you get a good guy behind the counter who will show you their EPG, others refuse to even give out part number details, attitude helps too), since the Camry is Australian-made a lot of components will have been made/sourced locally and thus can have different suppliers/part numbers to overseas models - in this case Amayama might not be able to help as they don't usually deal with Australia-unique parts.
